We have visited several other Cattle Baron restaurants in South Africa, but Canal Walk remains our favorite, because the meat is always perfectly cooked as ordered (we are fussy and prefer rare to medium rare).
We were not disappointed yet again by the 400g rump with garlic butter, and the 500g ribs. The accompanying spinach and butternut were up to the usual high standard.
The Cattle Baron snails are plump and extremely well baked.
On this visit we had a very attentive and charming waiter, appropriately chatty and cheerful, and quick to serve without being intrusive.
The other tables with locals, obviously returning visitors and satisfied, is a testament to the consistent standards maintained by this particular outlet.
Cattle Baron at canal walk remains one of our must do stops when visiting Cape Town.
