Raised until our teens in northern Italy and southern Netherlands respectively, we met and became a couple as we completed our schooling in South Africa.

Our university days in Cape Town saw us married and touring southern Africa in our converted VW camper van.

We continued our touring and camping in a caravan as we raised our two children based in Cape Town.

Family travel and exploration continued through 22 years GP practice in Cape Town which included 15 years of seasonal work as a cruise ship director of medical services in the southern Indian Ocean and 13 international lecture tours, later followed by 8 years work in medical logistics and emergency services in many countries in all continents.

Now 8 years semi-retired in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland, we continue to visit new locations, experience different cultures, and sample new cuisines.
